Steve The Bike Guy

In the Community

At Steve the Bike Guy we are committed to growing and advocating for the cycling community.

“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals.”

– Jean Vanier

Advocacy

Steve the Bike Guy is a member of the following organizations:

Working independently and through our memberships, we use our voice and platforms to highlight, educate and advocate for the changes we hope to see within the bicycling industry and community.

Education

As every child raised in the 80s knows, “knowing is half the battle!” From clinics covering the basics to rules of the road and rider basics, we work with riders, teams, and groups including the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, to educate and inform.

Events organized by STBG, including our Women Who Wrench clinics, focus on empowering riders through in-depth, hands-on education.

Ride Leadership and Route Planning

We love introducing riders to local roads and trails. As time permits, we host rides starting and ending at STBG, as well as guide routes in partnership with the New England Mountain Association’s Blackstone Valley Chapter and other organizations.

To encourage riders to explore our local roads and trails, we share our favorite routes through People for Bike’s Ride Spot, a resource for routes designed, and tested, by STBG

Team Support

We work with local cycling teams and riding clubs to support racers and riders with a variety of services including pre-season bike checks; event hosting; route planning; fix flat and mechanic clinics and mechanical support during the season.
