Among the new bikes to arrive at the Studio earlier this year was my new Framed Alaskan alloy.
Wth Steve working hard to get new bikes assembled and delivered to clients, I decided to try something new . . . put together my own bike.
Under Steve’s supervision, I completed the custom assembly in my spare time over the course of week. Not only was it very satisfying to put together my own bike, I also learned a ton about the bike and basic bike maintenance.
Having taken her out a few times since completing the build, I can confirm the bike, a pre-release 2016 Alaskan, rides great and has earned it’s name “Hot Rod.”
Here are some of the details on my custom built Framed 2016 Alaskan Alloy frame with carbon fork:
- Shimano SLX Drivetrain, 11-36 with 26t Wolf Tooth Components 1x Chainring
- RaceFace Aeffect Cinch Crankset
