As you may have heard, the global supply chain continues to be in turmoil, due in large part to the largest port in the country, Long Beach, continuing to set records for the most ships at anchor waiting to unload. Parts that pre-pandemic took two days to get are now back-ordered well into the fall of 2022!

STBG has been working tirelessly to maintain inventory, meaning most service parts are in stock for repairs and custom builds.

The ongoing shortage of bikes and parts was one reason a client, Jeff, was pleasantly surprised to find not only did we have a Surly Krampus frameset in stock, but it could be ready for his daughter in just two weeks. Budget-friendly, high-quality components including an SRAM GX rear derailleur, NX cassette that fit on the available HG freehub wheels, Wolf Tooth headset in red, RaceFace Aeffect crankset, and Shimano MT501 disc brakes were added to the stock frame and fork. Complete with 29″ wheels and 3″ tires the final result is a fun, beautiful bike that can handle the forest trails and packed snow this winter.
