Earlier this year, anticipating we’d have issues finding new bicycles for customers, I had the good fortune to grab some new-old-stock 2016 Scott Genius 700 Tuned framesets, complete with Fox Factory shock and fork matched to Scott’s proprietary Twinlock control lever – and the second, custom-built for Madison, just rolled out of the Shop.
Built using an SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain combined with Shimano SLX hubs and 11-51 cassette inside DT Swiss E532 rims, the bike is designed to run 27.5 wheels up to 3” tires, or 29” wheels up to 2.6” tires.
The Genius frame has an HMX carbon front triangle and aluminum rear swingarm with Boost spacing. The bike’s geometry allows for good standover clearance and a wide range of dropper post lengths. The small size can even fit very shorter riders with saddle heights as low as 560mm including a dropper post.
The 2016 Genius’s travel – 130mm rear and 140mm front – makes it a great trail and all-mountain bike that Madison can ride anywhere.
We have two medium and two small framesets available for custom builds, starting at around $3,900 and including new bike warranties. One is being built now and will soon be available to test ride.
