With the goal of joining her family’s mountain bike adventures, Megan wanted something that would fit her small frame, was easy to learn on, and had a dropper post – all while fitting a hardtail budget.

Fortunately, I was able to find the parts needed (no small feat these days given the global parts shortage) to custom build an XS Soma Riff hardtail with Shimano Deore/SLX 12 speed mix, a Rockshox Judy Fork, and Shimano tubeless wheels with Panaracer 2.6 tires.

Now she’s ready to roll, and we’re pretty sure Megan won’t just be joining the MTB fun – she will be leading it!
