After a five-month delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were finally able to welcome attendees to our Women Who Wrench Mountain Bike Mechanic Clinic.
Lead by licensed USA Cycling Race Mechanic, Steve Brandt, the goal of the hands-on clinic was to give women an opportunity to not only learn how to work on their own bikes, but also to help them become more informed consumers when purchasing bike parts or paying for repairs.
Hosted at Hale, a private non-profit educational organization in Westwood, the clinic was held outside allowing for social distancing. In addition, mechanics were provided with hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and face shields to wear in addition to the state-mandated face masks.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and to Clinic sponsors Colavita, Sombrio and Sundin Sports Marketing for their support.
