Thursday, August 18th
6pm – 8pm

Fall is approaching, and with it come cooler weather, beautiful foliage and cyclocross! But what is cyclocross? Primarily held off-road, races include grass, mud, gravel, sand, and pavement, as well as barriers and other obstacles which require riders jump off and push, or carry, their bikes. Click here to check out photos from past seasons.

Simply put, it’s fast, muddy, painful, crazy-fun on two wheels. And the season is just about the get started.

Want to learn more about this growing sport? Join us as we kick off the season with friends and teammates. We will discuss what equipment (and skills) you may need, to what the races are like and which ones not to miss.

Listen in as experienced racers – including Steve the Bike Guy team member Alex Carleton, who called herself the  “The Luckiest Woman in Cyclocross” after a last place sprint finish accompanied by British Cyclocross champion Helen Wyman  – share stories and lessons learned from their races. Riders of all ages are welcome! Younger members of the cyclocross club will be in attendance.

TUBELESS TIRES: Steve the Bike Guy will be discussing tubeless tires for cyclocross and all cycling disciplines, and performing a demonstration by mounting tubeless tires on his own racing wheels. We will have special deals on tubeless tires and associated equipment.
