The cold weather didn’t stop the kids and I from getting out the door Saturday morning for our first Cyclocross Club field trip to Adams Farm (the future home of Monstah Cross) in Walpole. While our numbers were low – everyone slept in! – the trip allowed us to scope out the potential course, as well as test the new Velo Studio buffs our daughter has been making for her teammates.

The cold weather drove the kids into the car after just 40 minutes – turns out, the biggest challenge when racing with the kids is keeping the little bodies warm – giving our teammate Pete and I time for a longer ride. We also had the pleasure of meeting several cyclists while at the farm, including Michael, the patriarch of the Keough Cyclocross team.

Next up for the Cyclocross Club:
– Club Meetup & Bike Check up – Saturday, November 7th – 9:00 – 10:30
Steve will give club member bikes a quick once over and review CX bike basics (race pre-checks, tire pressure, etc) followed by a short practice (location to be determined).

Coonamessett Farm Eco Cross – Wednesday, November 11th
We are asking race organizers about adding Junior categories – stay tuned.

Monstah Cross – Saturday, November 14th
Steve is closing the shop for this one . Look for the Velo Studio tent!
