As a small shop with limited space and inventory needs, we’ve always struggled with wanting to create t-shirts but not needing to buy as many were generally required to keep costs down.
Which is why we decided to do it ourselves! Armed with our “new” Hix heat press (found online from an estate sale), new designs created by Sundin Sports (Kristin’s marketing agency), and printed by FM Expressions in Virginia, we’ve been busy turning our dining room into a t-shirt production shop.
Our home is smoke-free but not pet-free (hello Miss Daisy). We suggest washing your shirt before wearing it the first time if you have any concerns.
Speaking of washing – the imprint is made with FM Expression’s “Athletic” formula which does have a slightly plastic feel. We will be washing our shirts in cold water and then drying using a low temperature (or hanging, depending on Kristin’s mood).
Looking for something other than a t-shirt (sweatshirt, hoodie)? Leave a comment and tell us what else we should produce!
