Fat Bike Family Vacation: What we wore

Keeping riders warm, but not too warm, was our goal when planning our wardrobe for the week.

When riding in the cold, the key is layering and remembering that it is better to have too many layers, rather than too few. We also focused our attention on keeping the core and the extremities warm, while allowing maximum movement for legs (so no heavy snow pants).

By the end of the week, each of us had figured out what must-have items we needed when heading out for the trails, adding layers as the temperature dropped:
