This weekend I raced in the Rapha Super Cross Gloucester, my first ever cyclocross race, and it turns out, the first of what has become known as “Holy Week” here in New England.

While my husband did an amazing job cheering me on through the three laps, he forgot one thing – to take a picture! Happily for me, because this is a major event here in New England, there were several photographers on hand capturing images. One, Geoff Martin (aka geoffmart65 on flickr), caught this one of me “stepping up” with Elsa, and gave me permission to use it.

With another race planned for next weekend – KMC Cyclo-cross Festival in Providence – I’m sure I’ll have more to share on my new obsession. But for now, I’m basking in the bruises and sore muscles of getting my first race done.
