THE FAT BIKE RUCKUS RIDE IS ON!

Sunday, January 24, 2016

This is a free event. Just show up and join the Ruckus.

Ride Start Time: 9:00am
Start Location: Steve the Bike Guy Velo Studio
25 N. Main Street, Sherborn

The Ruckus Ride will tour trails in Sherborn, Dover, and Medfield. There are 8 and 17 mile route options available which overlap each other plus multiple places to bail-out and head back earlier.  With the new snow and ending storm this will be a guided ride and hopefully no-drop too. If you have a GPS device it is highly advisable to follow the GPS course during the ride, or to ride with a buddy who has one and can go at your own pace if you’d like.
You will be home in time for the Patriots game – so come ride in the morning and work off the chips and chili you’ll have later!

Pre-Ride announcements and instructions start at 9:00 and we’ll roll out shortly after.

COURSE: The GPX file of the full course can be downloaded and installed onto your phone or GPS unit.

The courses are also posted on STRAVA

SHORT COURSE: STRAVA COURSE LINK 8.1 MILES
Visit the map links, click on EXPORT, and download the GPX or TCX file. Strava gives easy instructions to get on your device.

SNOW UPDATE:
The current forecast calls for limited snowfall of 2-4″ in our area so the ride is still on and should be even better! A couple inches on top of the current amount won’t limit a fat bikes ability to forge any trail without pre-packing. However, the use of any regular mountain bikes is now not recommended. Keep checking this page as the forecast and storm track is updated.
There will be two guided rides with a shorter slower ride and the longer full course ride.

POST-RIDE BRUNCH

Join us after the ride for brunch at the Heritage Inn next to the Velo Studio.
Sign up is required for the post-ride brunch – BRUNCH SIGN-UP NOW CLOSED

PARKING:
Up to 10 parking spots will be available in the Velo Studio lot. There are another 8 spots in the lot directly behind the Studio but this lot is for plaza customers so it can not be filled up – only park along the fence next to Railroad tracks. Additional parking is available across the street down Cemetery Lane. Turn onto Cemetery Lane next to Fire Station and proceed 100 yards to the large parking lot on the right cross from baseball fields.

Brunch Parking: If you are joining the post-ride brunch, parking is available in the rear lot of the Heritage.
